Armed bandits have abducted six members of an extended family following a night raid on Angwan Sarki Kaso community in Kakau Ward, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attack reportedly occurred around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, when the assailants invaded the community, surrounded at least four houses and took residents from different households belonging to the same family.

A resident, Adams Sule, who confirmed the incident, said the victims were taken away while they were asleep.

He disclosed that women and children were among those abducted during the operation.

The Secretary to the Village Head of Kaso, Jonah Baba, also confirmed the incident, explaining that the attackers arrived in the community and began shooting, triggering panic among residents.

Baba expressed concern over the recurring cases of kidnapping in the area, noting that residents had continued to live in fear as armed groups repeatedly targeted the community.

He added that some residents managed to escape during the attack but sustained injuries.

According to him, one of the seven abducted victims, a young man, was later released by the kidnappers, leaving six people still in captivity.

The latest incident has heightened concerns over insecurity in Chikun Local Government Area, where residents continue to face threats from armed groups.

As of the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the attack.
