Otutochi “Tochi” Wigwe, the eldest daughter of late Nigerian banking executive Herbert Wigwe, has married her partner, Wilson Omogbale Aikhomu, in a traditional wedding ceremony held in Lagos.
The private ceremony brought together family members and close friends of both families to celebrate the couple’s union in an event marked by traditional marriage customs.
The proceedings included the payment of the bride price, the signing of family documents and the formal handing over of the bride to her husband’s family.
Wilson Aikhomu is a Lagos-based investment professional and the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Zoya Admiralty.
He is the son of the late Rear Admiral Joseph Omozuwa Aikhomu and nephew of former Chief of General Staff, Admiral Augustus Aikhomu. He was also a close friend of Tochi’s late brother, Chizi Wigwe.
The marriage marks a new chapter for the 28-year-old Tochi, who currently leads the HOW Foundation, an organisation established in honour of her late father.
Herbert Wigwe, former Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, died alongside his wife, Chizoba, and son, Chizi, in a helicopter crash in California, United States, on February 9, 2024.
The tragedy sent shockwaves across Nigeria’s financial sector and beyond, with tributes pouring in for the prominent banking executive and his family.
