Chukwuma Soludo has officially sworn in 18 commissioners and four agency heads as part of his renewed “Solution 2.0” administration in Anambra State.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Awka, popularly known as the “Light House,” following the confirmation of the nominees by the Anambra State House of Assembly.

Addressing the newly appointed officials, Governor Soludo charged them to prioritise public service, accountability, and excellence in governance, stressing that their appointments were not for celebration but for sacrifice and hard work.

According to the governor, the new cabinet members were carefully selected after a thorough vetting process and are expected to deliver effective leadership capable of improving the lives of millions of residents across the state.

“I welcome you all to the Team Solution 2.0,” Soludo said during the ceremony.

“See your appointments as strictly a call to rigorous work, sacrifice and public accountability, and not personal celebration.”

The governor also urged the commissioners to embrace what he described as the “Anambra spirit” of excellence, innovation, and discipline while ensuring prudence and cooperation within their various ministries.

The newly sworn-in commissioners include Ben Odoemena for Agriculture, Chukwukadibia Okoye for Budget and Economic Planning, Udoji Amedu for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, and Dr. Ekene Ogugua for Education.

Others include Clem Aguiyi for Environment, Dr. Afam Obidike for Health, Dr. Law Mefor for Information and Value Reorientation, Prof. Offornze Amucheazi for Lands, and Vin Ezeaka for Local Government and Community Affairs.

Additional appointments include Prof. Charles Ofoegbu for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Casmir Agummadu for Power, Okey Ezeobi for Works and Infrastructure, Eddy Ibuzo for Transport, Esther Onyekesi for Women Affairs and Social Development, Patrick Agha for Youth Development and Sports, Henry Arinze for Housing, and Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu for Commerce.

Some members of the cabinet, including Law Mefor, Afam Obidike, and Patrick Agha, previously served during Soludo’s first term in office.

In addition to the commissioners, the governor also inaugurated four agency heads, including Emeka Okonkwo as Managing Director of the Anambra Road Traffic Agency, Dr. Ossy Onuko as Managing Director of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Fred Agbata as Managing Director of the Information Communication Technology Agency, and Obi Okonkwo as Managing Director of the Bureau of Public Procurement.

The governor reminded the appointees that their decisions and policies would directly affect over nine million residents of the state, urging them to focus on results-driven governance.

Political observers say the inauguration marks the beginning of Soludo’s next phase of governance strategy aimed at accelerating development, infrastructure expansion, economic reforms, and public sector efficiency across Anambra State.

The appointments also reflect the administration’s attempt to combine experienced public officials with technocrats and professionals capable of driving policy implementation in key sectors.

With the swearing-in of the commissioners and agency heads, Soludo’s cabinet is now fully operational as the administration intensifies efforts to implement its broader development agenda under the “Solution 2.0” initiative.
