Hilton Advances to Face Becerra in California Governor’s Race

California’s race to elect a new governor has entered a decisive phase after Republican candidate Steve Hilton was projected to advance to the November general election, where he will face Democrat Xavier Becerra in a closely watched contest to succeed outgoing Governor Gavin Newsom.
