INEC Yet to Receive Budgeted Funds for 2027 General Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is yet to receive the budgeted funds earmarked for preparations for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, raising concerns about the timeline for key pre-election activities.

The commission disclosed that while provisions have been made in the national budget, the funds have not yet been released, a development that could affect early planning for one of Africa’s largest democratic exercises.
