Xiaomi has introduced its latest Redmi Note 17 Series in Nigeria, unveiling four smartphones designed to offer longer battery life, improved durability and extended device performance.

The new lineup was launched at an event attended by Xiaomi executives, distributors, dealers, channel partners and technology influencers.

The series consists of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G, Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17.

Xiaomi said the devices were developed under its “Built for Years” approach, which focuses on durability and maintaining device performance over an extended period of use.

The company also announced that shipments of its Redmi Note Series have exceeded 500 million units globally, highlighting the brand’s growing presence in international markets.

A major feature of the new lineup is Xiaomi’s “Redmi Titan Quality”, which combines battery endurance, structural strength and reliability in the design of the devices.

The top-end Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G features a 10,000mAh battery alongside 100W HyperCharge technology. Xiaomi said the battery can support up to three days of usage on a single charge and retain at least 80 per cent of its original capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, which the company equates to roughly six years of typical use.

Xiaomi Nigeria Country Manager, Vandy, said the company aimed to make advanced smartphone technology more accessible to Nigerian consumers while extending the useful life of its devices.

He said the new series combines premium features with durability and up to six years of security updates.

Chief Executive Officer of Finet, Dr Fred Nnadike, said the company’s distribution network would help make the Redmi Note 17 Series available to consumers across different parts of Nigeria.

He noted that the devices’ battery capacity and durability were suited to consumers who depend heavily on smartphones for work, communication and everyday activities.

Raya Distribution CEO, Ahmed Magdy, said Nigerian consumers were increasingly considering battery performance, durability and value when choosing smartphones.

He said the company’s retail network would support the distribution of the new devices nationwide.

The launch adds to Xiaomi’s presence in Nigeria’s competitive smartphone market, with the company placing emphasis on extended battery performance, durability, software support and affordability.
