President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said his meeting with members of the City Boy Movement, Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria and other youth groups renewed his motivation for seeking the presidency.
The President expressed appreciation for the support of the young Nigerians, noting that their energy, determination and belief in the country’s future strengthened his commitment to building a nation that meets their expectations.
Tinubu made this known in a message posted on his X account following his meeting with members of the groups, who gathered from different parts of the country.
He said the gathering reminded him of Nigeria’s potential and the role young people could play in shaping the country’s future.
“When I walked into the hall yesterday and saw the young men and women of the City Boy Movement, Relax, Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria, and other youth groups gathered from across our country, I saw something that reminded me why I sought the presidency of this great nation,” he said.
The President added that the gathering reflected the country’s energy, courage and determination, as well as the collective effort required to build a better future.
“I saw Nigeria. I saw its energy, its courage, its determination, and the future we are working to build together,” he stated.
Tinubu commended the youths for supporting his administration during challenging periods, defending their convictions and taking his message to communities across the country.
He said their continued confidence in the possibility of a better Nigeria underscored the importance of youth participation in the country’s development.
The President also used the opportunity to personally thank the groups for their loyalty and support, acknowledging that he had not always expressed his appreciation directly.
“There are words I do not say often enough, and yesterday, I wanted you to hear them directly from me.
“Thank you. Thank you for believing. Thank you for standing with me,” Tinubu said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to building a country that reflects the hopes and aspirations of young Nigerians, pledging to work towards a future worthy of their trust.
“I remain committed to building a Nigeria worthy of your faith, your sacrifices, and your aspirations.
“Together, we will deliver the future you deserve,” he added.
