Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is expected to host more than 20,000 women stakeholders from across the country in Abuja today as part of efforts to mobilise women ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The gathering, tagged Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Campaign Roll-Out 2027, is being organised by the Women Mobilisation Directorate of the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council.

The event is scheduled to begin at 8am at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre (BATICC), Abuja.

It is themed “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity”, with the mobilisation message, “One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”

The summit is expected to attract women leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, grassroots organisers, political actors, community representatives and members of various women-focused organisations from different parts of Nigeria.

Ahead of the event, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council Women Mobilisation Planning Committee, Hon. Princess Gloria Akobundu, pointed to several government programmes which she said had benefited women and young Nigerians.

Akobundu said securing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election would allow the administration to sustain and expand its ongoing policies and interventions.

She highlighted initiatives including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), infrastructure projects, social protection programmes, consumer credit schemes, digital skills development and youth empowerment.

The APC campaign council member also urged women in Imo State and other parts of the South-East to intensify grassroots mobilisation and take the administration’s Renewed Hope message to communities across the region.

According to her, the Abuja meeting will provide a platform for women stakeholders to strengthen their networks, discuss mobilisation strategies and play a more active role in shaping the political process ahead of the 2027 elections.
