Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has commenced her 2027 re-election campaign in Kogi Central Senatorial District, drawing large crowds of supporters, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members and political stakeholders across the constituency.
The campaign launch, held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, attracted enthusiastic supporters in several communities, particularly in Okene, where residents lined the roads to welcome the senator’s convoy with solidarity songs and chants.
The activities culminated in a gathering at her residence in Obeiba, Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, where thousands of supporters and party loyalists reportedly assembled to demonstrate their backing for her second-term ambition.
According to a statement from her media office, the campaign marks the beginning of renewed consultations and political engagement with constituents ahead of the February 6, 2027, senatorial election.
The event attracted community leaders, political associates and PDP stakeholders from the five local government areas that make up Kogi Central: Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, Okene and Ogori-Magongo.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was accompanied by her husband, High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, personal aides and other political associates.
PDP candidates contesting National Assembly and Kogi State House of Assembly seats also participated in the campaign activities as the party intensifies its preparations for the 2027 elections.
The candidates included those seeking election to the House of Representatives for Adavi/Okehi, Ajaokuta and Okene/Ogori-Magongo federal constituencies, alongside candidates for various state assembly seats across the senatorial district.
Addressing supporters, Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed appreciation for the turnout, describing it as evidence of the relationship she had built with constituents over time.
She reaffirmed her commitment to effective representation and community development, stressing that her connection with the people was not limited to election campaigns.
The senator said the support reflected the confidence constituents had continued to place in her leadership and pledged not to take their loyalty for granted.
On her legislative priorities, Akpoti-Uduaghan promised to strengthen advocacy for infrastructure development, economic opportunities and projects aimed at improving living conditions across Kogi Central.
She particularly highlighted the need to sustain efforts to address longstanding development challenges in the Ajaokuta area.
The lawmaker also emphasised that effective representation requires continuous engagement with constituents, responsiveness to their concerns and legislative actions that deliver tangible benefits beyond electoral periods.
The participation of other PDP candidates provided an opportunity for party members and stakeholders to strengthen consultations and build cooperation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The gathering at her Ihima residence reportedly continued into the night, with supporters engaging the senator and other political figures.
The campaign launch signals the beginning of intensified political mobilisation across Kogi Central as parties and candidates prepare for the February 2027 senatorial election.
