Nollywood has been thrown into mourning following the death of Yoruba actress Temitope Osoba, who passed away at the age of 40.
The actress’ death was announced on Wednesday by fellow actor Alesh Sanni, with colleagues across the entertainment industry paying tribute to her life and career.
The cause of her death has not been officially disclosed.
Osoba’s passing comes about two years after she publicly revealed her battle with cancer. Following her recovery, she announced her return to the movie industry in 2025, describing the experience as a turning point that inspired her to rebuild her life and career.
After overcoming the illness, she dedicated herself to promoting cancer awareness and supporting others facing similar health challenges. She also resumed acting and expressed interest in new film projects, endorsements and collaborations.
Known for her performances in several Yoruba-language films, Osoba was widely regarded as a talented actress whose work earned her admiration from colleagues and fans alike.
