President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as a trusted companion who has remained by his side throughout their years together.

In a birthday message shared on his verified X account on Monday, the President praised the First Lady for her patience, strength, faith and support, particularly during challenging periods in his personal and political life.

Tinubu said Oluremi had consistently provided him with honest advice and emotional support, describing her as someone who was never afraid to speak frankly with him.

“Today, I celebrate the woman who has walked beside me with patience, grace and uncommon courage,” he wrote.

The President also referenced a Yoruba saying which describes a good wife as the crown of her husband, using it to highlight the importance of Oluremi’s role in his life.

He said his wife had carried some of his burdens, understood concerns he struggled to express and remained composed during periods of uncertainty.

Tinubu further credited her faith and prayers with helping the family through difficult moments.

Calling her his “truest friend and confidante,” the President said Oluremi had always been willing to tell him the truth, even when her words were difficult for him to accept.

He also praised her contribution to their family, saying her commitment and religious faith had influenced their children and grandchildren.

According to Tinubu, the values of kindness and faith that Oluremi has passed on to the family continue to guide their children and grandchildren.

The President also highlighted his wife’s humanitarian activities, particularly her work through the New Era Foundation, which was established during his time as governor of Lagos State, and the Renewed Hope Initiative.

He said her programmes have supported vulnerable groups, including children, widows, elderly Nigerians and women involved in agriculture.

Tinubu described Oluremi as a compassionate advocate who has also supported efforts concerning tuberculosis and other health-related challenges.

He said her humanitarian work had reached Nigerians regardless of their ethnic, regional or religious backgrounds.

Reflecting on their marriage, the President said the years they had spent together had been shaped by difficult decisions, personal sacrifices, prayers and moments of happiness.

He said those experiences had strengthened their relationship and deepened his appreciation of her as a life partner.

Tinubu concluded the tribute with a declaration of love, saying he would make the same choice if he had the opportunity to begin his life again.

He wished the First Lady continued good health, happiness and fulfilment as she marks her 66th birthday.
