Dangote Launches Whistleblower Scheme Against Illegal Haulage

Dangote Industries Limited has launched a nationwide whistleblower initiative aimed at curbing the illegal use of its branded trucks, offering a ₦500,000 cash reward to anyone who provides credible information leading to the arrest of offenders or the recovery of unauthorised goods.

The company said the initiative is part of a broader effort to safeguard its logistics network, protect its assets and eliminate the misuse of Dangote-branded vehicles for unauthorised commercial haulage.

In a statement issued in Lagos, Dangote Industries urged members of the public to report any suspicious activities involving its trucks, stressing that each subsidiary has clearly defined products that its vehicles are authorised to transport.

According to the company:

• Dangote Cement trucks are approved to transport only cement, limestone, clinker, coal and high-grade gypsum.
• Dangote Sugar Refinery trucks are authorised exclusively for sugar products.
• NASCON Allied Industries vehicles are designated to carry Dangote Salt and Dan-Q Seasoning products.
• Dangote Packaging trucks are restricted to transporting bags and packaging materials.
• Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals trucks are authorised to transport polypropylene products.
• Dangote Fertiliser Limited vehicles are designated for the haulage of urea fertiliser.

The company warned that any deviation from these approved cargoes constitutes illegal haulage.

“Anyone with verifiable information that leads to the arrest of persons involved in illegal haulage activities or the recovery of unauthorised goods transported on Dangote trucks will receive a cash reward of ₦500,000,” the company stated.

To support enforcement efforts, Dangote said it has established dedicated reporting hotlines across its operations and encouraged whistleblowers to provide detailed information that could assist investigations.

The company also disclosed that law enforcement agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, have been authorised to arrest drivers found using Dangote trucks for unauthorised commercial haulage.

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy against logistics-related fraud, Dangote Industries said the initiative is intended to strengthen transparency, accountability and compliance across its nationwide distribution network while protecting the integrity of its operations.

The company added that all credible reports would contribute to ongoing efforts to protect the Dangote brand, promote lawful business practices and ensure offenders are brought to justice.
