The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the recovery of additional components from the site of the NAF 931 aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, as search and recovery operations continue.
The Air Force disclosed this in a statement posted on its official social media platforms on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, noting that specialist divers from the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) were continuing underwater operations at the crash site.
According to the NAF, teams from the different agencies are working round the clock to locate and recover relevant materials needed for the ongoing investigation.
The operation is being supported by hydrographic surveys, satellite-based search-and-rescue imagery, mud excavation and the removal of excess water to improve access to areas of interest.
The Air Force said the additional aircraft components recovered would be documented and preserved to support the investigation into the accident.
The NAF 931 aircraft, an ATR 42-500, crashed near Igbokoda in Ondo State on Monday, October 5, 2026. The aircraft was reportedly carrying five crew members and 20 passengers, although a separate report cited in earlier coverage referred to a total of 30 occupants.
Following the incident, the Nigerian Air Force launched search and rescue operations, with other relevant agencies joining efforts to locate the wreckage and recover materials from the site.
More than a week after the crash, recovery operations remain ongoing, with specialist teams continuing their efforts to access the affected areas and retrieve evidence that could help establish the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The recovered components are expected to form part of the materials examined during the investigation.
